Inspiring a future generation of Happies!

“What do you want to be when you grow up?”

We all remember being asked that question at school but how many of us remember us having a definitive answer?

In a bid to inspire the next generation of marketeers, designers, writers and developers, Happy directors Karen Lambert and Simon Brooke took part in Blackpool’s Aspiration’s Day at Stanley School.

They were part of a number of organisations from across Lancashire who were taking questions from around 200 school children about their work, their influences and hopefully guiding them to where they could be in the future.

Amongst other subjects, Karen spoke to the children about what it’s like for a female to be successful in setting up and running a business, while Simon gave insight into marketing, business and his experience of being a director at Oldham Athletic Football Club.

Representatives from Lancashire Fire & Rescue, North West Ambulance Service, local press and colleges all took part in the event, which forms part of the Primary Futures campaign which launched across the resort last year.

Primary schools across Blackpool were involved in the week-long event where volunteers go into school to speak to youngsters about their careers to help motivate the pupils to think big.

Simon said: “The connections between business and schools are vital and initiatives like this one are as important for the children as they are for business people.

“Children should be dreaming big about what they can aspire to be. Meeting people from different jobs and different businesses from the ones they are surrounded by at home allows them to expand their own thinking and show them aiming high and hard work can take you anywhere in life.

“It was inspiring to meet the children and hear their own plans for careers, the future is certainly bright.”

Design & Brand Building

Marketing is bit like those huge, swirling flocks of starlings you see from time to time. Individually your brochure, email, ad, meme or gif may not change the world.

But when you join them together and ensure they’re all heading in the same direction, you have the power to stop people in their tracks.

We design communications that help build a consistent brand and convert more leads to sales.
