
Making a Difference: Happy’s Commitment to Blackpool’s Boathouse Youth

Laurance Hancock, CEO of The Boathouse Youth (BHY), is the inspiration behind Happy’s monthly donations to this incredible charity. His dedication and commitment to young people in Blackpool deeply resonates with us.
Laurance founded BHY 15 years ago which he created to help establish a positive, supportive environment for young people across Blackpool. His mission through various programs is to be able to promote personal development, well-being, and social connection for young people. From the Universal Programme to the Pathway Programme, BHY equips young people with essential tools for success while also addressing challenges faced by families. The Holiday Activity & Food Programme ensures children have access to food and activities during school breaks, easing financial pressures on struggling families.
BHY continues to reach thousands of young people, providing vital support. Through collaborations and partnerships with local organisations, BHY works to create a network of support that strengthens the entire community. Their work goes beyond simply offering resources; they aim to inspire hope, foster resilience, and build brighter futures for all.
There are many ways to get involved with The Boathouse Youth and support their essential work. Whether through donations, volunteering, or fundraising, every contribution helps provide the necessary services and resources to young people in Blackpool.

Our monthly donations to BHY contribute to a positive social impact as part of our contract with Blackpool Council for SPF-funded initiatives with the Business Growth Team. Through tailored marketing strategies and our RISUS methodology we are promoting the Blackpool Net Zero Business Academy and Blackpool Growth Business Academy. We provide branding, content creation, social media management, and event support to help these academies showcase their offerings. From marketing plans to producing video content and organising impactful events, we ensure the academies have the visibility and awareness to succeed.
Beyond business, we are committed to giving back. Supporting Blackpool Boathouse Youth is part of our social responsibility, helping provide young people with essential resources, guidance, and opportunities.
Happy’s Contributions
We take great pride in supporting this wonderful charity, reflecting our core commitment to putting people first and making a meaningful difference. Through our continuous support, we’ve already helped provide drinks and snacks at a number of youth club sessions, helped keep resources well-stocked enabling young people to participate in learning opportunities, funded a child’s place on their Universal Programme and helped to fuel their minibus, ensuring transport is never a barrier to access.
