Whether you’re an employer or someone looking for their dream job, spend just a few minutes in the world of recruitment and you can be left with a strong sense of déjà vu. Recruiters that look the same and sound the same, charging big fees (often £150+) to post a single job. Because jobs cost so much to post, businesses post fewer of them (or don’t advertise online at all), leaving candidates with a smaller pool of the same jobs from the same people.

Dave Rigby believed there was a better way. What if, he thought, you dramatically cut the cost of posting a job online, so every business could afford to advertise? And what if, instead of sounding like every other recruiter out there, you could do it in a friendlier, more personable – even a more fun way?

So Dave launched My People People, a place where brimming jobs boards benefit candidates and recruiters, and where the approach to recruitment is unlike anyone else.

It’s that last part that Happy has been involved with, helping My People People develop the strategy and creative for a distinctive brand engagement and candidate acquisition campaign.

It’s a campaign built around dream jobs, subverting the traditional aspirational recruitment ad, and doing something rather more unpredictable to grab the attention of recruiters, job seekers and those who aren’t actively looking for jobs, but want to keep their options open by registering their CV.

Already, the novel My People People approach is gaining momentum, securing 155 applicants for 30 jobs with G4S, 48 applicants for 25 posts with Manchester Airport Group, and filling vacant posts for clients including AXA, Cancer Research UK and Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

Big results for top employers

“Launching our new Jobs Board has proved an exciting and rewarding venture for us,” explains Dave. “The clients we now have include some major national top employers and many SMEs, and we’ve been able to prove that our candidate attraction strategies bring results.”
