There are training courses and there are training courses. Happy runs marketing training courses that help build business and brand awareness. That’s essential stuff, but Happy’s latest client, Colossal Training, provides global training that really is life or death. We’re helping them grow by telling the world about it.
There’s a terrifying moment (amongst many) in Tom Hanks’ latest movie, Captain Phillips, where Hanks’ character realises that the skiffs bearing down on his cargo ship aren’t friendly. “They’re not here to fish,” he says solemnly.
Colossal Training gives people the skills for which you’re grateful in that kind of crisis. Through three businesses, Colossal Training, Colossal Maritime and Colossal Security, the organisation delivers worldwide training for first aiders, security officers and close protection specialists. They even train in anti-piracy and counter terrorism measures. It’s the sort of training that saves lives; the sort that comes in rather handy when you encounter people who, as Captain Phillips puts it, “aren’t here to fish.”
Marketing a marine
Happy are helping bring Colossal’s unique brand of training to a broader audience by working with them to refresh and build their brand, create a targeted marketing strategy and refresh all the group’s websites.
Founder and chief executive, Lee Kirton, was once a marine. He and his team of consultants are specialists at what they do – and it was specialism of a different kind that brought Lee to Happy.
“We wanted a partner who could help take us to the next level. Our growth plans are ambitious and we need a marketing partner who can ensure we meet them. We spoke to a number of companies and Happy was a name that kept coming up.”
Branding a BIBA finalist
In recognition of Colossal’s success to date, the company was a finalist in the ‘new business of the year’ category of Lancashire Chamber of Commerce’s BIBA Awards 2013. With a new London office in the pipeline and a new branding and marketing partner in Happy, we’d like to think it’s the first of many accolades and awards.
