Blackpool Council’s business arm, Blackpool Unlimited provides free business support for start-ups and growing business in the town. Since 2012, we’ve been working with the in-house team to deliver strategic marketing plans, market research, social media support and content marketing to maintain top of mind awareness and generate enquiries.
Increasing business engagement
The MaCaW Project
UCLan’s low carbon project, The MaCaW Project, helps Lancashire SMEs understand and lower their carbon output through a range of initiatives. Since 2019 we’ve been providing content marketing support with blogs, social media management, graphics, gifs, website updates, and news stories which are helping raise visibility with a continuous drum beat and constant flow of enquiries.
Creating healthier communities
Blackpool Council Public Health
Healthier Blackpool is part of Blackpool Council’s Public Health Team. We’re supporting in-house stakeholders with specialist marketing that encourages behaviour change for a healthier Blackpool. Campaigns include eating healthily, stopping smoking, exercising, diet and mental health, all of which are helping communities make better choices.
Waste Education Campaign
Wyre Council
“If Rubbish Could Talk” is a campaign to educate residents on waste to help drive behaviour change for recycling. Together with the in-house team we produced the overarching campaign name and identity with a range of digital assets and social media posts. Recycling in the borough increased by 4% as a result.
Lead Generation
Lancashire Health Matters
This specialist fully-funded Programme, a collaboration between UCLan and the Innovation Agency, helps Lancashire SMEs sell to the NHS. Working with both organisations with customer research, social media management, animated videos, content and asset creation has helped recruit Academics and SMEs onto the Programme.

Cambridge University Press
We’ve been supporting the in-house team with a range of animated videos and guides for learners and teachers of English. From educational resources to pronunciation videos, to teaching guides, we’re helping the world’s oldest University press engage and inspire millions of people throughout the world with their journey to learning English.
Community Engagement
Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council
We’ve worked with in-house teams from across the Borough to deliver community engagement campaigns to residents; from encouraging residents to vote, to making healthy lifestyle choices to looking after their mental health.
Brand development
The Platform
“The Platform” helps young people in the town find work, skills or training opportunities to build a better future. We worked with key stakeholders at Blackpool Council to create the name, brand identity and a range of brand assets and guidelines. The result is a clear identity which young people are relating to and have confidence to engage with.
