Streetlife set to rock Blackpool!

As part of Happy Creative’s work in the community, we have been lending a hand to Blackpool homeless charity, Streetlife. Later this month they will be putting on the resort’s first indoor festival.

One of Blackpool’s most famous pubs is to play host to the resort’s first indoor festival in aid of young homeless people.

StreetLive will be rocking the foundations of The Star on South Beach on September 24th as bands and DJs take to the stage for the Streetlife charity from midday till midnight.

The brainchild of local music promoter Ric Hulme, StreetLive will be a celebration of up and coming bands on the blossoming Blackpool music scene with all money raised going towards Streetlife, which is aiming to plug a hole in its finances following a funding cut at the start of 2014.

Streetlife provides support and shelter for young people between the ages of 16 and 25 to enable them to make informed choices about their situation and issues which affect their lives. The two centres are entirely volunteer-run and open 365 days a year to support young people who find themselves homeless through various life issues.

All bands featured at the festival have also contributed to a CD which has been produced with all sales going towards funding Streetlife’s shelter on St John’s Square and The Base on Buchanan Street in Blackpool.

Ric said: “Streetlife was an obvious choice of charity for me with it being Blackpool based and hearing the cuts in funding to the charity really sealed the deal. A good friend of mine introduced me to the charity when he started organizing his own collection for Streetlife.”

Around 30 volunteers help run the two centres who have a variety of roles with some of them working with the young people while on a gap year. They provide them with life skills which will help them moving on in their lives and they have seen a number of young people who have used their services go on to achieve great things in the face of adversity.

Streetlife is dependent on charitable donations from the public and its partners and sponsors across Blackpool. It is aiming to raise £120,000 in funds following council cuts. This summer the charity introduced Manchester United youngster Joe Riley as its first charity ambassador. Joe was born in Blackpool and his family live in Lytham.

Jane Hugo, CEO of Streetlife, said: “We are really excited about StreetLive and indebted to all those artists organisations who have contributed to the cause. We are confident this festival will help with the funding as we seek to raise £120,000 every year to keep the charity going.”

Design & Brand Building

Marketing is bit like those huge, swirling flocks of starlings you see from time to time. Individually your brochure, email, ad, meme or gif may not change the world.

But when you join them together and ensure they’re all heading in the same direction, you have the power to stop people in their tracks.

We design communications that help build a consistent brand and convert more leads to sales.
