As the world becomes ever-more environmentally aware a new invention for sending packages is set to hit the market – not the planet.
With more than 30 years of experience in packaging under their belts, inventors Alan Rea and Ron Jones have been working on an innovative new product – a completely environmentally friendly bubble envelope.
But hasn’t this been done before? Not exactly. Hot on the heels of new legislation coming into place, the brains behind Emailers embraced new technology based around creating a simple padded barrier similar to bubble wrap but with biodegradable paper. Sounds easy? Not quite!
This is where it gets technical – the duo has duplicated the bubble shape by embossing the paper fibres to create a cushion effect in order to protect the valuable objects contained inside the envelope – all without harming our delicate world.
Having helped the planet, Emailers needed some help marketing their incredible invention to the world and approached Happy Creative who have been with them every step of the way, from brand concept, sorting them out with a brand workshop, designing and building an e-commerce website, as well as becoming a marketing partner to support them as they launch the product.
Alan said: “There’s nothing like this on the market at the moment and initial responses to the project have been very good. Typical comments we have received range from ‘It looks such a simple idea’ to ‘How come this hasn’t been done before?’
“Good ideas always look obvious in hindsight and we take the comments in this context. We are extremely proud of our first product and we fully intend this to be the first of many in our environmentally-friendly products portfolio.”
Karen Lambert, managing director of Happy, said: “It’s always exciting to work on a new product but this Emailers product really is innovative and exciting as it’s totally new. There is nothing like this out there and we hope this invention will revolutionise the way packaging is made.”
