Let’s face it, we can be quite selfish at times. We all get set in our daily routines and often try not to let anything get in the way of that. There are often laborious tasks we have to do and rules we have to follow in our day-to-day lives which a lot of the time can be very frustrating for us as consumers simply because the majority of the time, there doesn’t seem to be any direct return, what’s in it for us?
Now I imagine I’m not the only one who thinks like this. This is an attitude many of us take with not just the above but with so much more in life, we need some kind of incentive, something that makes us want to do what we do.
How about if we were presented with these laborious tasks we all find so tedious in a fun & more exciting way, that would be pretty cool wouldn’t it?
Well this is exactly what we do aspire to do at Happy. And we aren’t the only ones, ‘The Fun Theory’ being one exponent of this attitude.
They aim to change a consumer’s behaviour for the better by presenting them with a fun alternative way into doing a certain action. I truly admire the work ‘The Fun Theory’ get involved with as they don’t just make people listen with the campaigns they submit but more importantly tackle the issues of today & the future, doing things to help the environment and make the world a cleaner, safer & more respectable place. They get inside the heads of us all as consumers and know how we all think and what needs to be done to change negative actions into positive actions.
If you think about it, the possibilities are huge!
Some of the work that ‘The Fun Theory’ do showcase is remarkable and very clever indeed and at the end of the day…works!
Below are some examples of the work that has put a smile on my face, I hope it does the same to you…

Now this is just brilliant and right about now.
There have been so many issues involving speeding lately, should we have cameras or not, do they work? Do they even have film in them?
Well at ‘The Fun Theory’ a masterful piece of thinking took place where someone decided on a way to help people abide by the speed limit and also WANT to abide by the speed limit. It was called the ‘Speed Limit Lottery’. They set up various cameras around the town and people went about their day as per usual. The idea was that the people who decided to speed went through the camera and had their photo taken and they were fined. The money from the fine went into a pot. The drivers who drove through the cameras at the correct speed or under also had their photo taken but were instead entered into a lottery draw where the winner after a certain amount of time would be presented with all the fine money from the road abusers. Now this is just ruddy clever!
What could you do to change a consumers behaviour? Bet I’ve got you thinking haven’t I? Hope you’ve enjoyed this little blog piece of mine and I hope you enjoy the ‘Speed Limit Lottery’ below.
