Woolly jumpers are a must on a modern Christmas shopping list.
So when Mrs Johnson’s Emporium wanted to show off their stock to the world, boss Susanne Johnson approached Happy Creative to come up with a functional website which would be easy to use for knitting types, yet practical enough to show off patterns and other knitting paraphernalia.
The knitting shop is now threading its way through the internet with an ultra-modern approach to a past-time which has become cool again, so cool even Hollywood celebrities have become one with the needle.
An e-commerce website based on a Magento content management system, it enables you to zoom into products making sure you can see the smallest detail with a responsive site. Away from checking out the products (of which there are many) there is an integrated blog section which gives an insight into the knitting community, integrated Worldpay once you reach the check out and various delivery options to suit the customer’s needs.
Susanne’s business might have history behind it but she hasn’t relied on the stunning 50-year-old facade to bring customers through its doors. Where Mrs Johnson’s Emporium is leading in the way small businesses can show off their products is through a stunning Google walkthrough feature which lets you stroll around the store can do more than find the emporium on Google Maps, they can check the inside out too.
Susanne said: “I wanted people to feel part of the business even if they couldn’t visit it in person and the functionality that Happy gave me has allowed potential customers to do this. Small businesses which are a little out of the ordinary can sometimes have problems expressing themselves online but I now have the website which delivers on every level.”
