If Boardmans is anything to go by, Cool Britannia is alive and well. And thanks to Happy Creative, the company is set to enjoy even greater success in taking British fashion to a global market.
You’re an international fashion manufacturer selling to more than 30 countries, with a 90 year-old reputation for turning the best of catwalk trends into high street must-haves. Boardmans is the team behind the hats, scarves and gloves you’ll find in a host of high street retailers. And as the company launches its new website and spring/summer 2015 collection, it’s clear that accessories aren’t the only fashion it’s at the forefront of.
When Boardmans first began manufacturing gloves in Hyde, Manchester, fashion moved at a more sedate pace. Today, fuelled by technology that would have had the original founder’s head spinning, every season demands a new collection, and selling it demands a site that can take Boardmans’ uniquely British design sensibility to a global audience.
This year’s look is a celebration of halcyon days, but next season’s collection will be something entirely different, so it was vital that new and future collections were supported by a website and downloadable brochures that were themselves ‘on trend’.
“Design always matters,” explains James Chantler, Happy Creative’s creative director, “but when design and fashion is what your business does, how you present yourself to the world is all the more important.”
